Undermount bathroom sinks are becoming quite popular with homeowners looking for a sleek, modern and convenient option for their bath space.
Under-counter sinks fit directly under countertop cutout holes and are supported by clips that hold the bowl in place. That means the exposed inside edge of the cutout hole is exposed and must be finished. Under-counter sinks work well with countertops made of stone and solid surface materials.
The first and most economical sink design is the drop-in sink. Available in a wide range of materials and styles, drop-in sinks sit atop a vanity countertop and incorporate a faucet into their design.
Undermount sinks are slightly higher in price than drop-in sinks, but they have a similar style, with one exception—they sit flush on the surface of the vanity, whereas drop-in sinks fit over the lip of the hole in the vanity. These sinks are also available in a wide range of styles and materials, including porcelain and metal.
